These minutes listed below reflect two meetings held since last board meeting.
MINUTES for 2-14-11 and 10-14-11
*GRANTS :50 minutes
*CDGC :30 minutes
*DGE : 30 minutes
*LDC : 30 minutes
Start time 8am end 1pm
Progress on existing grants: Waiting on 2nd and 3rd milestone checks from King County CPG. Once those checks have been presented the 2011 round of funding from this source will be depleted.
Seeking out additional funding:Wheels already in motion for 2012 round of CPG funds maxing out at $100,000.00. Additional grants and funding for new disc golf education program are underway. Freelance grantwriter is willing to do all of the work for this project and funding. This particular grant writer opted out of being part of the board. This will be handled as an outside contractor. Fees for writing grants will be paid to grant writer. Moral and ethic codes prohibit and in-house grant writer, unless a board member chooses to take on this task.
Vote on in-house grant writer: Most of the board is supportive of such a thing, but most grant writers adhere to a strict moral code prohibiting them to be part of an organization that they are in fact writing grants for. This topic will be brought up at a later date, when a higher success rate for grants are reached. Also the challenge is finding a grant writer who feels like he/she want to take on more of a commitment to administrative duties for DOS other than writing grants.
As of 10-22-11
DOS: CPG total amount received was $100,000.00
All of that amount has been used, or is accounted for with the last remaining redesign developments on the course.
Once the last amount has been accounted for there will be public record for money allocated.

CHAINBANGERS DISC GOLF CLUB:
NEW COURSE DEVELOPMENTS: Seatac disc golf course will be getting nine additional holes added to the already existing 18. The city of Seatac is currently getting a commitee formed to plan a course of action, and wether or not the Port Of Seattle will need any permits pulled for this project.
Since the City of Seattle Parks seemed to be going nowhere, the focus has been on King County parks. Of those there are a few that have potential.Waiting to hear back from parks personel before expending too much energy on these proposed sites. Will report back when there is something worthy of reporting.
City of Renton, has a few open spaces and parks that seem to offer a great site for new course develpoment.Awaiting response from parks personel as well.
City of Covington, has a few parks they would like to see host a disc golf course. The problem was the size of the parks were too small for any signifigant kind of course. Also a big factor in not moving forward, was no way for them to add Disc Golf as a master plan inside any of these parks. Therefore feeling that too much work and commitment would be made for something that would been taken away was not worth the time and effort. However the was a peice of property owned by King County that seemed like a great fit, and will be pursued as one of the above mentioned propery sites.
CLUB UPDATES: Since last meeting the member levels have been reconfigured to just a simple $20 a year or $40 a year upgrade. With the $40 you get a shirt and disc as well as your club mini. With the $20 you get the mini as well. Both get you 15% discount on every purchase at Chainbangerz Disc Golf Shop. Currently we are talking about the 2012 season for club run events and golas we hope to acheive througout the year.
COURSE ACTIVITIES: Previous events were the Chainbangers Club Summer Series in 2011, as well as the NW Doubles. Ongoing weekly doubles at Lakewood happen every Sunday in the Fall and Winter at noon, and Thursday at 4pm in the summer time.Every 4th Sunday of the month there is a club run acepot being held at Seatac Disc Golf Course. That has been on going now for close to 2 years now and has been generating some money for the club, as well as offering a sizeable acepot amount for any participant.
2012 activities are currently beign discussed by the CDGC board.
Disc golf education has taken a back seat as Keith was heading this program up and is pretty busy with other disc golf related business listed here in.
There is a new program in the works that will be seeking out funding, this will help pay disc golfers to instruct children this wonderful actvity.
